AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So there have been WAY too many road bumps in this China process, and this morning I hit another one. My contact in China (Maggie) sent me an e-mail telling me the chinese government denied my visa papers for whatever reason. I was completley heart broken, I have been mentally preparing myself for this school for well over a month now. I signed the contract, sent it ALL my papers and was pretty much told I had the job. The thing with my contact in China is it takes her forever to reply back to emails and this is causing more and more frustration because I just want things FINALIZED! I have since opened up another door for myself (yes since this morning). A good friend of mine is teaching in Indonesia, she LOVES it there and has encouraged me numerous times to consider coming there to teach instead of China. I sent her an email this morning asking her to send me more information, maybe China isn't supposed to be where I am going and thats why it is taking so long for this to happen....

What if I have to go to a Chinese Dentist?!?!?!

My anxiety and excitement are growing more and more every day that I get closer to February and my departure. My dad mentioned to me in passing the other day "It's weird to think that in a couple months you aren't going to be here." Until that moment I think I had imagined myself being in China, but everything being exactly the same. ...weird how your mind works sometimes. I am excited for the new adventure and I have been blessed with the ability to be thrown into anything and take it and make the best of it. But in past "adventures" I have been surrounded by people that I already know and have relationships with and we went through the experience together and through that experience we would create a unique bond. In saying that two things scare me: I am heading into Asia not knowing a SINGLE person... OK not true, Josh curnew a f riend from high school is also in china but is around 7 hours away from where I will be located...so really? Not helpful. T...

A couple months ago I mentioned in my blog that there was a contract that I really liked but then they wanted me to start on October 1 and they had sent me the contract on September 28, it of course went to someone else. Well I emailed my rep from China notifying her that I would be much more available to start in the new year and she sent me another contract from the same school!! It is the Pingyang Primary school in Zhejiang Wenzhou China I wanted to work with kids but you aren't always guaranteed that so I am glad that it is a primary school. That is all for now I haven't agreed to the contract yet I am bringing the contract to Kevin ( a guy my family knows who lived in china for 10 years!)to go over it with me and will most likely sign by the end of this week!!!!!!! The school is located in Ping yang County, Wenzhou city, Zhejiang province.

Car accidents, birthdays, swine flu and china.

I have been reminded numerous times in the last little while about how fast life can change in my life and in the lives of people around me, and it scares me...alot. I was on my way to see Dan and Michelle (friends of mine) get married, it was a gorgeous day and I had FINALLY started feeling better after a week of feeling like absolute dirt. I was turning onto Orkney road (which is two seconds away from my house) when I hit gravel and it threw my car into a ditch and I then hit a slab of cement my whole front end of my car ended up in my lap. It happened SO fast but I remember thinking a million things before hitting the concrete had one of those life flash before your eyes moments. I was lucky and only walked away with small bruises and cuts... my car was a write off but thankfully my insurance company was "generous" in my claim. This all happened three days before my birthday... I am happy to have walked away alive I am super bummed out about my car it was my firs...

My relationships deserve a purple ribbon...Thanks for participating but your not a winner...

One day I will tell my grandkids that I dated an Australian...but thats where it ends. Long distance is extremley difficult and I don't recommend it to ANYONE unless you are willing to deal with HUGE phone bills, stupid arguments and misinterpritation on alot of things. Good luck to you! Lache and I ended things last night and I have never felt better about a decision, which makes me sound like a horrible person, but with the huge changes coming up in my life this was just one more stress I didn't and don't need in my life right now. So now I'm single independant Kim again...which is usually when I feel my best, having a boyfriend is fun but again just not stress I need in my life right now. ONTO other things China contracts are confusing, the one that I really wanted fell through because they wanted me to start October 1 and that just caused instant anxiety as I am not ready enough to be there in three days. But I'm still hopeful I will find "the one" ......

Life to date...and possibly an empty promise?

I am a blog failure I promise to update this more regularly especially now that I'm actually doing something exciting with my life! About 6 months ago I took a course at McMaster University to obtain my English as Second Language degree with the hopes to travel and teach children English. I just received a contract from China that I will most likely be taking on. I will be moving to China in November to the province of Zhejiang in the city of Wenzhou it is near Shanghi. I will be living in a two bedroom apartment complete with living room, kitchen and bathroom but it will be NOTHING like a two bedroom apartment we have here in Canada. Its going to be an epic life change and an amazing experience and I can't wait to start my adventure! BEFORE I go to China I will be travelling to Australia to visit Lachie for a month I am so excited to see him because even though our phone conversations are awesome...they aren't enough it's going to be an experience for sure. I will ke...

My knee saga continues!! I finally have some answers not great answers or anything I wanted to hear but answers non the less. I got in to see my Orthopedic surgeon a good three months earlier than originally scheduled because I called them every day to see if there were any cancellations :) I'm pretty sure they saw me just to shut me up! Anyways he saw me and I found out that I have a grade three MCL tear. The MCL is the ligament that runs beside the knee cap holding it in place so those times where my knee would go out and I would be in pain for hours are when my knee cap slipped through the tear in my MCL ligament. Gruesome right? Wait it gets worse... I went to physio last week and the physio therapist assuming that my MCL was only torn did this thing where he put a seatbelt over his shoulder and then around my knee and lifted my knee with his body weight all of a sudden my knee made a popping sound (GROSS) and he went "OH no!" (NOT something you want to hear in the ...
